The Company

Raising Gains Advisors provides strategic proposal management and grant development for organizations pursuing competitive funding, from foundation grants to federal contracts.

After nearly a decade managing federal programs and leading competitive proposals across nonprofit, defense, and government sectors, Alana founded Raising Gains Advisors to address a critical gap: organizations pursuing funding need more than writing services. They need strategic guidance on the full proposal process.

Our Approach

We use a diagnostic methodology to identify what's preventing organizations from winning competitive funding. This means assessing organizational readiness, evaluating competitive positioning, and determining strategic fit before investing time in applications that won't succeed.

Strategic assessment of opportunities and organizational readiness
Full proposal lifecycle management from capture through submission
Honest evaluation of win probability and competitive gaps
Process discipline built for organizations without dedicated proposal staff

Alana M. Collins, MBA

Our Founder

Before founding Raising Gains Advisors, Alana built her career at the intersection of federal procurement and program execution — starting with grant-funded nonprofit programs and advancing into defense R&D and federal contracting at the highest levels. She has managed a $15M+ portfolio of federal R&D programs and led 20+ competitive proposals for DARPA, Air Force Research Laboratory, Office of Naval Research, and U.S. Army.

That experience spanning both sides of the funding relationship is what she brings to every client engagement. Whether you're a nonprofit pursuing your first foundation grant or a defense contractor competing for a $10M federal contract, the fundamentals are the same: a credible organization, a compelling narrative, and a plan that evaluators can believe in.
